Irish whiskey distillers have always fiercely and jealously guarded the independence of their spirit. They produce a different style of whiskey to that of their Scottish cousins. Blackadder wants you to celebrate that difference, but they also want you to enjoy Irish whiskey as it was always traditionally enjoyed. So, just as with their fine Scotch single malt whiskies, Blackadder never alters the spirit of Ireland when they put it in the bottle. A Drop of the Irish is just that!
Tasting Notes: Nose: Malty cooked apple with raisins. Rich fruity sherry notes accompany the spiced oak. which is lingering in the background
Palate: Buttery feel on the palate with the apple and raisin mixing together with the sherry notes on the exhale. At the end left with fruity spiced oak
Finish: Slight tannins and drying of the lower cheeks and tip of the tongue. The oak lingers along with the fruity sherry notes. We recommend to add a dash of water for the whiskey to open up the aromas further adding another layer of honeyer adding another layer of honey
