A small batch of four refill sherried hogsheads and one sherry butt from Benrinnes Distillery have been used to create this Speyside Single Malt, distilled in 2009 and aged for 12 years. This is a rich, spicy whisky with notes of leather, chocolate and cherry.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Sitting on a soft, worn leather armchair while sipping on a Manhattan - this is all cherries and spice! Sandalwood, clove, cinnamon all invite you to enjoy this dram
Palate: Chocolate and cherry abound and take on the richness of a black forest gateau topped with almond slivers. Ginger snaps with a cup of coffee, balances the sweetness, and only adds to its moreish quality
Finish: This is a beautifully intense, spicy finish that fades to cherry cola and black peppercorn
