This single malt was distilled at Caol Ila distillery in 2011 and aged for more than 10 years in a single ex-sherry butt, yielding a total of 643 bottles. Succulent fruit notes are embellished with elegant Islay peat smoke and a pleasant earthiness.
Nose: Crossing over a muddy garden to open the door of a cold-meat smoker, before it’s fired up. Plasticine clay and Lego blocks are stacked and stored in a wooden toy box. Red fruit chutney appears next, along with smoked meats.
Palate: A fresh, salty and soft pretzel is dipped in a sticky, smoky and jammy dipping sauce, alongside slices of high-quality baked ham. Clean handkerchiefs are taken from a waxed jacket pocket.
Finish: Dry and lightly smoky with a sweet and salty finish.
