Distilled at Ardmore distillery in 1997 and aged for 24 years in a single hogshead, which yielded a total of 233 bottles. A creamy dram, with a blend of sweet and sharp fruits and an undertone of spice.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: An open peat fire roars in the reception of a fancy cocktail party. Huge vases sit on the floor filled with sweet smelling blooms. Guests sip on smoked peach bellinis while nibbling on crabcakes with mango salsa. The bartenders prep for the second round of drinks – the air is filled with cut apple slice garnishes and sweet smoked syrups.
Palate: The second cocktail is served – The astringent texture of citrus blends with peach puree and mint leaves. These tangy citrus flavours have a nice spicy undertone of black pepper heat combining with the pulp of sweet stoned fruits. There is a hint of vanilla at the tail. With a couple of drops of water it becomes even more viscous and syrupy.
Finish: What starts as fruit with fresh mint infused syrup becomes a sharp gooseberry note at the end.
