DISTILLERY FOCUS: TULLIBARDINE
Tullibardine Distillery, located in the Perthshire region of the Scottish Highlands, was founded in 1949, but its history of distilling dates back to the 15th century. The distillery uses water from the Danny Burn spring in the Ochil Hills. The water is pure and rich in minerals, making it an ideal source of water for local distilleries for centuries.
The distillery produces single malt whisky in the traditional way, with all the production processes, except malting, taking place onsite. It ensures that a dedicated craft team is in control of the process and that each whisky created respects Tullibardine’s heritage and focuses on spirit and wood quality. Tullibardine whiskies are delicate and elegant, with hints of honey and vanilla.
Tullibardine 13 Years was matured in bourbon casks and bottled by Cadenhead's. On the nose, freshly cut grass, digestive biscuits and lots of tropical fruits. On the palate, candy floss, white chocolate, vanilla pods and creme brûlée. At the finish, oily with faint pine notes, hard boiled sweets and hoppy. A sweet and dreamy dram.
